Larry Reed two-voice poem

Brother 1Brother 2
Money, money, yeah, yeah,
I cleaned the whole house by myself!
No you did not

I bet mom gave me more money!
Really? how much money do you have?

Exactly! point proven.

Enough to send you to Paris.
I bet mom gave me more money!
Mom, Mom, Mom!
Who has more money?

Than who? Winnie the pooh!

Mom I did the most work.
and I got less
Wait a minute!
Bro we should feel dumb.

Both $3.
Money, money, yeah, yeah,
I cleaned the whole house by myself!

Yes I did! what are you talking about?
I bet mom gave me more money!

I have none of your business dollars.

How much do you have Einstein?

I bet mom gave me more money!
Mom, Mom, Mom!
Who has more money?
Wait I know who does!

Me obviously!!!
Mom I did the most work.
and I got less
Wait a minute!
Bro we should feel dumb.

Board of Education

Dear Board Member:

Our society is facing a great economic depression. In this time-period, our society desperately needs the future generation students to get a high education diploma. In other words, we need more of our students to graduate with a college degree, or at least a high-school diploma, to make sure that they have a bright future and to help fix our society.

We have seen many intelligent people in your district, but they don't have the money to go to college. Most of the students that we see drop out of high-school and decide to live a very stressful life. We want the best for our future U.S. citizens which is why we want to bring this program to APS. We have introduced this program to four other locations; Oakland, East Palo Alto, New Orleans, and San Francisco.

We are looking to start college track in Colorado for the first time and believe that you are just the right district to start at. Statistics show that 100% of our students graduated with a high-school diploma and over 90% of College Track high-school students are attending or have already graduated with a college degree. The national average is 56%. And 90% of our students are the first in their family to attend college. In the U.S., only 22% are first generation students.

With our current economic crisis, we cant stand to lose anymore anymore high-school students. We are hoping to make a difference in the students’ lives and increase the amount of college graduates. Please accept our offer to let us do so.

Sincerely,

Brandon Topete

Briana's Script

                                   Scene: At the Aurora Mall
                             Characters: Jasmine (daughter) Barbara (mom)
Barbara: Why are you at the mall when you are supposed to be at your Aunt’s?

Jasmine: Because my Aunt said I could go.

Barbara: Well you didn’t ask me if you could go!

Jasmine: I thought that you wouldn’t mind with me going since my Aunt said I could.

Barbara: Well I do mind and you know how worried I get when you don’t let me know where you are going!

Jasmine: Well, maybe I don’t want you to know where I am at all times! Maybe I just feel like you are overprotective of me! I don’t have any kind of freedom.

Barbara: Believe it or not, I do give you freedom, it’s just that when you do things like this, it makes me not want to give you freedom or even trust you!

Jasmine: I never thought of it like that before, it’s just that I thought that you just wanted me locked in the house forever. Not letting me go hang out with my friends, not letting me go anywhere without you or my family, I can’t even go with my friends!

Barbara: You just have to show me that you are mature enough and that I can trust you before I let you go to the mall or anywhere else with your friends!

Jasmine: I am very sorry for the way I have been acting lately.

Barbara: It’s okay, just don’t do this again! I love you.

Jasmine: Okay, I love you too mom!

Dani Diaz: How Too Avoid Child Abduction

Parents, it’s time to understand that there is psycho people out in the world that want your children. Not all people out in the world desire your children but it is for the best to be aware of your surroundings and where your children are at all times. Here are a coupe tips into making sure your kids are safe and avoid getting abducted.

1. First thing is first, do not allow yourself to get into any situation of discomfort. Do not flaunt that your child is alone and make it known to everyone. There are times when you need to be discreet about things and your child must be one of them.

2. Later, go online to check all of the pedophiles and rapist in your neighborhood. This will enable you to be aware of your surroundings, and know what house to avoid on Halloween. I know what your thinking next, “Well what about the people who are not registered online, what next?” Remember, keep an eye on your kids at all times.

3. Next, if they are going over a friends house for a play date be sure to get to know the family first. Do not just let your children out in the world without knowing who they are with. Have a couple play dates at the park first, talk to the parents multiple times and then when you feel ready let your kid go over for a couple hours.

4. Then, when you are off to work don’t just hand over your child to the cheapest sitter! Ask several family members first, then in last resort have a couple interviews with a few good candidates. This will surely settle your bombarding thoughts of doubt. Make your needs and wants clear to the sitter, don’t be afraid of making your voice heard. When it comes to children there is no room for joking.

Cyanna Whitney's Two Vioce Poem

six year oldsixteen year old
I can’t do anything

I sit around watching cartoons
No freedom

I have to ride the school bus
I never get to do anything. Everything is locked up

Bedtime
8:30

I still have a babysitter.

My mom still picks out my clothes
I still get nap time

Well I guess this is the life I live at the age of six
Ehhhhhhh

I drive around and hangout with friends

More freedom
I’m finally FREE!

I drive where I want when I want !

My curfew
11:00

I’ve grown so much

Ahhhh Wonderful things I do at sixteen

I love life right now

Kinae- How To

How to enjoy watching Howl’s Moving Castle

1: Make sure that before you start the movie, you should get everything that you might need or have to do before the movie starts.

2: After you get finished with everything. You should make sure that your comfortable and relaxed so that you’re able to enjoy this wonderful movie.

3: Once everything is done and your ready. Pop the DVD into the DVD player.

4: There of course, gonna be some 15 minutes preview before the movie actually starts.

5: Between this time, you can stay and watch the preview if you feel like it or you can just skip past the previews. ( I’d rather watch the preview, but that’s just me.)

6: By then the movie should start and you should be already to watch the movie.

7: Make sure that you sit back and enjoy this movie.

Dear Modern Warfare

I have an idea called the Modern Warfare Rocket Ship. I was wondering your company could use the rocket ship to be an asset to your products we can negotiate to make this idea manageable. The idea is very unique. Many people and also the Modern Warfare community would like to have this product. I think it can be successful and make big money.

I started this Idea when I was experimenting for my science invention and so I came up to one of my uncles and he was playing Modern Warfare 3 and I really liked the graphics and the realistic features you make. I made a prototype and it came out very good. The graphic the textures, and the visual development are very precise.

Let me know so we could manage this and also make the rocket ship a big bang.

Sincerly

Language construction

Two by two they read their words
Giving voice to thoughts and ideas as they form.
This is a construction zone, but no hard hats required.

"Take out the 's'" "Is that one word or two?"
"Oooh, you didn't put a period."
"Is this how you spell blackmail?"
"Does that sound right?"

These are the verbal blueprints of writing.
A poem or a letter, it doesn't matter.
They all take their turn to be voiced aloud to test
If the foundation is solid, the structure clear.
"Now that sounds right!"

Then again to the keyboard where the right words are built
Into significant messages of a teenage mind.
