The Cricket Company

Dear cricket:

This month the internet in my home has been very unsuccessful. It’s so slow and you can’t see videos on Youtube. Last night I was trying to send an important message via email and I can’t send it because the internet was so slow.

I was wondering if you can do something to make it faster because I think that people can’t keep paying for the service if it dosen’t work very well. Internet is very important in the daily life, for work, school, etc. I hope you can fix it!!! thanks.

Sincerely,

Sandra Gonzalez

Briana's Instructions

Briana’s Instructions: How to apologize to your Mother
By: Briana Rorex
  • Step 1: Admit to what you have done wrong.
    • For example: You could say, “ Mom, I know what I was doing ________ is wrong, but......”
  • Step 2: Explain to her the reason why you did what you’ve done. If you don’t have an explanation, just try to find yourself to be sympathetic!
    • Example #1: Say, “...but I was I thought that if I told you, you would go crazy on me!”
    • Example #2: Say, “....but....I don’t know...I just felt bad about how I would make you feel if I told you the truth.”
  • Step 3: If she doesn’t buy your explanation, just try your best to suck up and start crying.
    • For example: You could say, “PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Mommy I am SO, SO, SO, SO SORRY!”

Conclusion: If that doesn’t work, well you are out of luck!

Two different Paths of Life

The Nerd The Popular Guy

High-School was a nightmare

High-School was the best

I was the weak, bony kid

I was the most fit and athletic

I never made the team in any sport, but I made the chess club

I Made varsity football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. I made all-state for all of them as well.

I was an excellent student, my high-school GPA was 4.85 (the highest possible)

I didn’t give a crap about school. I had all F's and I didn’t care about my GPA

I hardly had any friends

Everybody knew me, I was the joker

I got picked on a lot

I got suspended every 5 weeks

I graduated after all that torture

I dropped out my Junior year

I got accepted into Harvard

I was looking for a job

I graduated with a major in business

I worked as a cleaner

I now have my own business

I am struggling

the hard work was worth it

I should have tried

I’m glad I was a good student

I could have been more successful

I am successful

I am a loser

What Makes You So Much Better Than Me?

Annie(6): Ugh why do you always get to do the fun stuff?

Georgia(16): Because I’m 16 and you’re 6! Haha but don’t worry you’ll get there someday.

Annie- (SIGH) I never get to do big girl things!

Georgia-Well maybe because you are not a big girl!

Annie-I don’t see why you always have to rub things in all the time.

Narrator-Georgia’s Phone Rings.
She Walks Off Talking On The Phone Disregarding What Annie Has Said

Annie- GEORGIA! I get that your older than me but what I have to say should still be heard.

Georgia- Look I’m busy right now, bug off you pest! Find some friends your own age to bother.

Narrator-Tears come to Annie’s Eyes.

Annie- Just because you are older than me, doesn’t mean I have to be mistreated. I have feelings too.

Georgia- UGH! Find someone who cares to hear your sob story. We’ve all been 6 before so suck
it up and get over it Drama Queen.  You act like being young is the end of the world.

Narrator-Annie runs off to her room crying.

Daughter Mother
My mom!

She makes my life so hard!

She doesn’t let me go
ANYWHERE,

she doesn’t understand!
It’s hard having a mother that is all up in my business!

Man! Can I at least have some
privacy?!

Sometimes...having a
mom is a pain!

My crazy daughter!

She stresses me out!

I get worried about her and
she doesn’t understand!

It’s hard having an out-of-control daughter who doesn’t talk to me about anything and everything!

Man! Can’t I at least get some
respect?!

Sometimes...having a
daughter is a pain!

Larry Reed's How to

Allowance

How to convince your parents to raise your allowance?

“Mom, Dad give me a raise in my allowance” is probably what you guys ask your parents. It might not always work and I’m going to tell you how to make it work.

To start off, don’t wait for your parents to tell you what to clean, do, or pick up, do it on your own. Doing this should set off an alarm in your parents head to tell them you’re being smart about what you need to do.

Next, go above and beyond when it comes to cleaning something. Start off by making and cleaning up after dinner. Meaning, if your mom, dad, or guardian, is cleaning up, have that person go sit down and tell them you will do it. That’s when the word “smart” comes into play, be smart about every way that could help you get a raise in your allowance.

Lastly, one of my favorites I like to do to my parents and something they would like to see when they are not home. Make up your parents’ bed if it’s not already done. To get to this process, you would need to clean the whole house alone or with a sibling. Don’t have friends help because it shows your parents that your friend said your house is dirty so lets clean it. Now once the whole house is clean go fix your parents’ room. Make the room as nice as they would leave it from clothes, to trash, all the way to vacuuming, just clean it all.

When you accomplish that process, if needed, get a piece of paper and write them a special note and leave it somewhere visible that they can see. Do all these steps repeatedly to attempt to get a raise in pay and trust me I have been doing this since I was five.
