Two by two they read their words
Giving voice to thoughts and ideas as they form.
This is a construction zone, but no hard hats required.
"Take out the 's'" "Is that one word or two?"
"Oooh, you didn't put a period."
"Is this how you spell blackmail?"
"Does that sound right?"
These are the verbal blueprints of writing.
A poem or a letter, it doesn't matter.
They all take their turn to be voiced aloud to test
If the foundation is solid, the structure clear.
"Now that sounds right!"
Then again to the keyboard where the right words are built
Into significant messages of a teenage mind.
