Brandon Topete 2 Voice Poem
Two different Paths of Life
The Nerd The Popular Guy
High-School was a nightmare | High-School was the best |
I was the weak, bony kid | I was the most fit and athletic |
I never made the team in any sport, but I made the chess club | I Made varsity football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. I made all-state for all of them as well. |
I was an excellent student, my high-school GPA was 4.85 (the highest possible) | I didn’t give a crap about school. I had all F's and I didn’t care about my GPA |
I hardly had any friends | Everybody knew me, I was the joker |
I got picked on a lot | I got suspended every 5 weeks |
I graduated after all that torture | I dropped out my Junior year |
I got accepted into Harvard | I was looking for a job |
I graduated with a major in business | I worked as a cleaner |
I now have my own business | I am struggling |
the hard work was worth it | I should have tried |
I’m glad I was a good student | I could have been more successful |
I am successful | I am a loser |
This poem is awesome, and I love how much work you put into both parts.
ReplyDeleteBrandon,
ReplyDeleteI love the juxtaposition of the two characters. This is so true! I've actually seen it happen.
Regarding grammar - do you need any periods in this poem, or is it okay to use your 'poetic license?' Also, I would capitalize "All-State," because it's an award/honor.
